Saavni Sood belongs to a nuclear family living in Ropar, a small city in Punjab with her
parents(Father Mr. Deepak Sood, Mother Mrs. Geetika Sood), Grandmother (Mrs. Usha
Sood) and younger sister (Vamika Sood). A seven old girl, Saanvi Sood’s story is very
inspirational and motivational. She looks very innocent and a down to earth girl. Her
family teaches the moral values to her to be a great gainer without pompousness. She
achieves great success in a very small age.
Her father is a civil contractor and has projects in Himachal Pradesh. She has been
accompanying her father to smaller mountain peaks but after watching the film
‘Everest’, she was so inspired that she asked him if we could go to Everest. She
makes up her mind to do so along with her father. Mr. Deepak Sood, her father,
gave first preference to her dream and made many sacrifices with his work.

Academics and Avocation

Saanvi Sood is a seven years old girl studying in the 2nd standard in Yadavindra Public
School, Mohali. From a very early stage, she is adventurous. She loves to do mountain
trekking, cycling, skating, martial arts, painting etc. She makes her body fit with the
help of yoga and exercise. Apart from this, she is very good in her academics as well.
Saanvi Sood gained success in other fields as well. When she was 6 Years and 5 months
old, she went mountain trekking from the portal of Rohtang tunnel to seri-nallah. As it
is an unvisited place, she became the youngest girl who had gone trekking in that area.
Her artwork is admired by school and got selected for school magazine. In 2022, she
was selected for Rising Youth Superstar of India magazine. At Age of 6, she covered 35
KMS of cycling in 4 hours from Ropar-Kharar-Ropar in Punjab.

Inspiration

Perfection is not attainable but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence. Saanvi
Sood’s mother plays a role of mentor in her life. When she was 4 years old, she asked her
mother how anyone could meet the Prime Minister of India. Her mother replied in a
very humble way that someone has to achieve something extraordinary. At that time she
decided to meet The Prime Minister of India. And, this is her dream as well to meet him
one day.
That thought motivates her a lot and she decided to do something in her life. Being a
child, she keeps her innocence and does hard work to gain success in her life. At a
young age, she saw a movie ‘Everest’, after that a keen interest built in her heart and
mind to climb the sky one day.

Success

Triumph is not a genetic or inherited factor; this is a state of mind developed through
understanding that risk, perseverance, dedication and the ‘never quit’ attitude are the
key elements in combination that lead to masterful achievement. Saanvi Sood is the
youngest girl of age 7 who has created history by reaching the base camp of Mount
Everest in June 2022. Saanvi Sood has a future goal to climb seven summits at a young
age.
For the young climber, this is a trailblazer to the higher peaks. She says, “It was tough
but I was determined to reach the summit. Someday, I will scale Everest”. is the first
youngest girl in India to wave the Indian flag at the base camp of Mount Everest. Saanvi
made this a new record in just 9 days by crossing the track during stormy and blustery
conditions in low oxygen, through many hurdles in the path.
