Saanvi Sood , Resident Of Ropar , a student of Class 3 of Yadavindra Public School, Mohali, has once again set a new record in mountaineering and made us all proud yet again of her extraordinary achievement. She hoisted Indian National flag at the highest peak of Australia, Mt Kosciusko, on Saturday 27 May, around 9.30 IST . She along with her father Mr. Deepak Sood left home on the 20th of May 2023 to go ahead with the tedious task . She started her journey for the final summit on 26th of May.
Last year at the age of 7 years , she scaled Mount Everest base camp and highest peak of South Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro and had gained high recognition on National as well as International level.
Her father Deepak Sood , confirms that , the height of Mt Kosciusko i.e 2228 mts , is less as compared to others peaks of the world , but it was not an easy task for a small child to scale it in such rough weather conditions. Summiting Mt Kosciuszko in winters during harsh weather conditions , is as difficult as climbing other high peaks of the world. The temperature at top was around minus 12 , wind pressure was extremely high , and with snow at depth of 7-10 fts all around, did not deter Saanvi to make it to the summitl. It was yet another challenging experience for her,but Saanvi proved herself a winner by exhibiting strong willpower, both in mind and body.
With this summit , now Saanvi had completed her second world summit out of 7 summits of the world she plans to scale in future
